Day 9 – Where To Go From Here?

May 14th, 2009

Today the plan was to get 4 more submissions done for Unique Article Wizard, but the last few days UAW has been acting up for me, they’ve been doing daily backups and site maintenance and during that time it’s really hard to get a submission through.

Today it was so bad I was only able to get 1 through…I wrote up 3 more but I’m going to have to wait until tomorrow morning to submit them.

After I do that though, I’ll have done UAW submissions for all of my Sniper Sites and then the question becomes what next?  See, I’ve made 39 Sniper Sites and increased my daily hops quite significantly as a result, but the thing is the sales have not been going up as well.  This is the kind of stuff which stops people from continuing on, it really sucks…So now I’m wondering if I should keep on creating sites or not.

I think a big part of this is finding the right keywords, perhaps that has been the issue, I don’t know yet at this point…

Well, I’ve found a replacement product to use for my troublesome Sniper Sites, so I may just switch to that in the coming days and see what happens with those 22 sites.  Other than that, I think I’m going to spend some time tomorrow doing a lot of keyword research and see if I can find some gems that will renew my desire to create these sites in spite of the results so far..

Earnings For Today:

  • Adsense = $1.63
  • Hops = 136 (70 hops for the 22 troublesome Sniper Sites)

Day 2 – Unique Article Wizard-A-Thon & Outsourcing

May 7th, 2009

OK so today was quite tiring, I needed to do some UAW submissions for many of my sites so I could automate their backlinks.  Up to today I had already run UAW on 8 of my sniper sites, but that left 21 in need of backlinks…so today, I queued up *7* articles for Unique Article Wizard.

Each run of UAW takes me about 1 hour and for each of those 7 submissions, I put in 2 links at the end, each link pointing to a different sniper site, so I’m building links to 14 of my sniper sites with all of this work… I set UAW to distribute the links to around 1k article sites for each submission at a rate of 5-7 a day.

That just leaves 7 sniper sites to run UAW on which I can take care of in 4 more submissions, then I’ll need to do some submissions of my sniper sites to some of the websites from Steve’s Backlinks package.

Oh, BTW yesterday I had thought I reached a high with 90 hops, but the day wasn’t over, the number of hops yesterday reached 104! O_o

One thing I wanted to mention yesterday was I had tried a service from a WSO which offered 100 high PR backlinks(mostly from Steve’s Backlink package) to a site of yours for I think it was $67..After buying that, I got a nice report of where all my links were and so far, the result has been I’ve moved from #5-6 on page 1 to #1 on page 1 for my keyword.  It will be interesting to see though if that placement sticks as I’ve achieved that before in the past and dropped back down.

Having taken this step, I’ve now been thinking more and more about outsourcing.  I think that once you reach the point where you’re earning $300-$500/month you can start considering outsourcing content creation to someone in the Philippines with a lot more comfort since your business profits would cover it.  At around $2-$3/h, you can hire someone to do content creation for you full-time($300-$500/month).  Until you get to the point where your business can fund something like that though, Outsourcing can be a scary place to venture.

I think I’m going to go back to site creation tomorrow…

Earnings For Today:

  • 1 Sale for Site #1 = $26.38 (#of hops = 81)
  • Adsense = $5.62

Thought I’d mention that I have a bunch of sniper sites made in a certain niche where the keywords I targeted have anywhere between 5-22k searches a month for phrase match.  I’ve gotten quite a lot of hops from the sites placing on the first page (126 so far spread out over several sites) but haven’t gotten a sale out of it yet….While these are really high search numbers, the keywords are not the most targeted “buying” keywords….Will be interesting to see when these turn a profit.

Day 1 – AKA Day 129, AKA The Last 5 Days

May 6th, 2009

Ok, I guess I’ll call this Day 1, even though it’s more like month 4.5 or Day 129 (I started back on December 28th 2008)..

Today I didn’t do too much other than work on setting up my site so I’ll take this time to go over what has been going on the last 5 or so days.

As of right now, I have created 29 sniper sites…I also have 13 more domains registered in 2 different niches that I have yet to turn into sniper sites.  The 29 sniper sites plus my 8 main authority sites = 37 sites total.

Now to give you an idea of the kind of hops these sites are generating, have a look at my hop count for today:

These are my tracking id’s in Clickbank.  No Tracking Code + Null are for my authority sites with Clickbank products (Site#1 – Site #5).  Out of the 42 hops there, about 26 are for Site #1, 3 for Site #2 and 13 for Site #3.  The rest of the 48 hops are for my sniper sites!

It’s crazy, I think today is the first day the sniper site hops have been MORE than the hops I got for my main authority sites.  Before I was only getting an extra 20 or so hops from them.  BTW, today is also a record for the # of hops, I’ve never had 90 hops in 1 day before.

So, aside from all that, I should mention that I got 2 more Sniper site sales in the past 5 days…1 was yesterday for $31.85(new niche) and the other was today for $20.04…this makes for 8 Sniper Site sales within the last 30 days for a grand total of $172.13.

What’s interesting to note is that the site that got the $31.85 commission has only gotten 3 hops IN TOTAL before getting the sale and the sniper site that got $20.04 today has gotten 28 hops total in it’s lifetime and yet got *3* sales!

It’s insane…I looked over those sites to try and see why the conversion could be so high and I realized that when I read my own copy, it actually read quite well, better than some of my other sites, so I believe that has something to do with it…it could also be the keyword though.

I don’t always get results like that though.  One of my Sniper Sites that gets a ton of hops (104 in the last month) has had 2 sales which isn’t too bad and then there is one that has had 126 hops yet only 1 sale…Then of course I have a boatload of other sniper sites that have anywhere from 3-36 hops so far without a sale.

Now I started creating these sites around March 26th and most of the 29 I have were created within the last month, so I think it’s still too early to be thinking I should be getting more returns for my efforts.

One thing I’ve noticed is just how HUGE a difference going from position 5-10 on page#1 up to position 1 on page 1 can make.  1 of my sniper sites today was able to make that transition and rather than getting the usual 1-3 hops a day it instead got 12 hops today being at #1!

I’ve decided recently that I’d slow down on the site creation for the time being and work on building backlinks to these 29 sites I’ve already created.  I’m planning on doing a Unique Article Wizard run on them, maybe covering 2 sites per article I submit with UAW….Then after that, I’ll submit backlinks for the sites via Steve’s backlinks(similar to Angela Edwards’ links).
There’s more I want to talk about but this has gotten kinda long so I’ll go over the other stuff in the next post :>

Earnings For Today:

  • 1 sale for a sniper site = $20.04
  • 1 sale for Site#1 = $26.20
  • Adsense = $4.30

Here’s a visual look at my sales over the past little while:

Welcome To Mike Iser.com!

May 5th, 2009

Hey everyone!

Thanks for dropping by…if you’re reading this, chances are you know me from the Nicheblogger forum or perhaps Firepow…Either way I’ll write up a bit of a synopsis:

I decided to make a serious go at IM around mid June 2008.  I had my first sale for around $30 during the last few days of July, so about 1 1/2 months after I started putting in some work…Following that, I made $116.17 in August and then $323.90 in September.

A lot of those sales were the result of me going crazy on Ezine Articles, I had submitted 77 articles in August and 107 articles in September (You can see a more detailed explanation of the profit I made by visiting my “Earnings By Month” section)…These sales were coming from 3 main sites I had been working on and making posts to.

In October I stopped the Ezine Article submission and my income dropped to $268.84, the month of November it was $187.32 and in December it was $235.89.  At this point I was getting frustrated with my income not going anywhere and that’s when I came across the Niche Blogger.

Since around December 28th of 2008 I began logging my IM related activities on the NB forum on a daily basis.  I found that after I had created the thread on the forum, I had a sense of obligation to then follow through and make sure I have something to post about every day, this sense of accountability helped my business out tremendously.

I also began queuing up posts to my blogs and setting them on autopilot for 6 months, something I had never done before…I set my blogs up to post twice a week for the next 6 months (60 queued posts)….Once I had done that, I began creating new sites and queuing up 60 posts for each of those sites as well…

My income in January 2009 was $301.14..

And my income in February 2009 was $325.17..

But after putting forth consistent work into managing my blogs and promoting them, my income FINALLY began to increase!  Through constantly updating my main 3 sites and using promotional methods such as Unique Article Wizard, SENuke, Bookmarking Demon and by adding Adsense to my sites and using various other tactics, here are the results I was able to achieve:

March 2009 = $622.44 (A good deal of this increase was due to running SENuke 10-15 times.  This brought a lot Site #1’s rankings from page 2-3 to page 1 of Google.)

April 2009 = $795.19 (I got another increase here when I began to create Sniper Sites as per George’s “Google Sniper” method which is similar to Andrew Hansen’s Niche Marketing On Crack.)

In the upcoming posts, I’ll be sharing with you all that I’m doing on a day to day basis and show you the results those actions are bringing. My hope for this site is that it becomes an open area of discussion where people can come and are free to ask questions, give their input, talk about their own progress or talk about what is being done…

I’d very much like to hear your feedback, as you have all helped me to achieve this with your input and support, feel free to leave comments or ask questions and I will do my best to reply back to you :>

Being that I’m on this path as you are, I hope you’re able to gain a lot from my perspective and use any insights you get by following along to improve your businesses.

Here’s to conquering this IM business once and for all!
