Day 79 – This Could Be Big…

July 23rd, 2009

OK…I’ve gone and done something which feels like a VERY,VERY big step..

It feels like I’ve stepped into a new level of game by having done this…but now that I’ve done it, I’m starting to see how much better and faster things are going to be progressing from here on out…

I’ve decided that from now on, I am NOT going to write ANY articles.  That’s right…no more writing for me, I am now going to be outsourcing EVERYTHING.

I’ve gone ahead and put down 1k for outsourcing to Human Rewriter…it’s a big step and I’m pretty much doing it on faith at the moment, to be honest, as all I have to go on is having seen Ben’s success with this method.

Now it wasn’t easy to put this money down, but once I did and started seeing how quickly and easily I was getting work done, I started realizing that if this thing works out, this could very well lead to me getting a  full time income a lot quicker than I had previously thought!

Now with the average Hubpage being around 450-500 words, I’m finding that this translates to a cost of around $3.75 per outsourced article for the Hubs.  Considering you get a 20% bonus when you invest 1k, that’s 1,200 points which will likely yield me 320 Hubs/Infobarrels.

Now part of the reason I’ve been able to put down so much is because I’m making 2k/month…essentially my business is funding itself here…I can tell you that once your business’ income hits around $500/month though, you will reach the point where you start considering outsourcing seriously and becoming more comfortable with spending large amounts on it.

This is something I’ve worked my way into..not too long ago if you look at my archives, you’ll see I was quite reluctant to do ANY outsourcing whatsoever!

Now the reason I went with Human Rewriter is because I’ve been impressed with their level of writing…there have been times where the articles I got back were written BETTER than the source article.  Also, they don’t just rewrite sentence by sentence, they also change the structure while still maintaining the ideas that are trying to be conveyed.  This is why I think their work turns out so well..

Also, I don’t know if you’re put on a priority queue if you invest a lot, but my wait time has been reduced to 1-8 hours from 24-36…In fact, today I submitted 12 articles to be outsourced and I ended up getting 4 of them back before I was done submitting the lot!

One of the most important things I feel when outsourcing for Web 2.0 properties like Hubs is that you outsource to a place which is going to product decently written articles…You don’t want the grammatically incorrect drivel that sometimes gets passed through at Ezine Articles…You need these Web 2.0 properties to stand the test of time, if I hadn’t found a company that pops out well written articles  all the time like these guys, I would not have felt comfortable enough to outsource like this and take my game to a new level…

Now as for what I did today, as I mentioned earlier, I submitted 12 articles to be outsourced…I wasn’t able to do more work than that as I had some other things I needed to take care of, I’ve got 2 birthdays I’m going to be going to tomorrow and day after.

So now I’m going to be spending a lot more of my time just doing keyword research and looking for good keywords to turn into hubs….if all goes well, I’ll probably put down more money to continue the outsourcing.

The way I look at it is, if I spend 2k to outsource a mix of 640 hubs/infobarrels, lets say 210 Infobarrels and 430 Hubs , if this ends up yielding me a $100/day revenue stream, would it not be worth the 2k invested?

Of course it would!

The only thing is, most people don’t reach this level due to one or several of the following reasons:

#1. FEAR – This includes being afraid to invest time in your business and not get any return out of it (note, it’s all part of the process and necessary, you will eventually see returns) , Being afraid of outsourcing, being afraid of building a website, being afraid of building more than X number of websites, being afraid of putting up Web 2.0 properties because they might get shut down, being afraid of doing Adsense because you might get banned and lose all your money, being afraid of building sniper sites because they might not last in the SERPS, being afraid of writing X number of articles and not seeing any money come of it…etc, etc…

This all needs to STOP.  Stop fearing, it is crippling and halts ALL progress..If you want to make it in this business, you NEED to conquer this, no exceptions.

#2. Not putting forth the required work effort (and it is WAYY more than you think…you need to put forth concentrated effort on a DAILY won’t get anywhere until you realize that it must be DAY BY DAY, absolutely NO skipping days…that breaks momentum.)

#3. Not thinking BIG enough!  You need to put out tons and TONS of content out on the web if you want to see profits…You can’t just sit on your 3, 10 or 15 sites, you need to start thinking bigger…either turn those into massive authority sites, start pumping out articles like mad promoting them, or start pumping out tons more of those same type of websites, HUNDREDS of them…whatever model you prescribe to, you need to be looking at taking it to the extreme, that’s the one constant with everyone who’s made a full time income online.

That’s it…seriously!  It all comes down to that so keep these 3 points in mind.

Earnings For Today:

  • $63.77 – 2 sales for sniper sites, 1 sale for site #2
  • Hops = 515
  • Adsense = $2.07

Day 77 – Got A New Outsourcing Resource

July 21st, 2009

So 2 days ago I had outsourced 16 hubs to a service called “Human Rewriter” It’s an outsourcing service I saw Jeremey Kelsall and Michelle and Leslie from TNB vouch for…Well, I just got them back and overall I am pretty impressed!  I read through them all and noticed that they all made sense, there were no silly grammatical errors that would show that someone wrote this who has English as a second language.

I got really excited after looking through the first few, thinking that I wouldn’t even have to edit these, that I could post them straight up as hubs, but I eventually found a few that had issues.  About 3-4 of the 16 didn’t use the keyword enough times or at all in the body….Additonally 1 other small thing was I mentioned they should all be over 450 words…the majority were, but there were 2 that were under 400, one at 330 words and one in the high 300’s.  With those I jsut padded on an intro paragraph and a little conclusion and that was that.

On the whole though, this has been the best outsourcing experience I’ve ever had.. I even asked them to throw in some LSI keywords if they could fit it in and they ended up doing it :> …As for the editing for each article, overall it didn’t take long…I’d say less than 30 seconds for each, except for the 3-4 that I needed to fill in the keywords (1-2 min each) and the 2 that I had to add an intro and conclusion sentence (2 min each)..

But again, the thing that stands out most with these people is the English quality… a lot of outsourcing companies say they have native English speakers(GetArticlesDone) but then you realize some of the articles are NOT written by native speakers….In this case there was the odd small spelling mistake, but the grammer for all 16 was on par with a native speaker.

Now BTW, Get Articles Done was still good and I will still use them for UAW submissions… but for content I want on a site, content I want to read well, I’m going to be using Human Rewriter (That’s my link if you want to use it to sign up).

The hardest part when it comes to outsourcing is finding a good person or good group of people to outsource to, and with these guys, who I hope will stick around for a while, I feel I’ve now got that element of confidence.  In fact, I’m now considering going all out with outsourcing after this and just outsourcing ALL my infobarrel backlinks to my hubs to them.  If I make 300 hubs and outsource 150 Infobarrels which are just re-writes of 1/2 my hubs….at $3.70 for the average 450-500 word article, I’m looking at $555.  Quite a lot of money…I really only have Ben’s experience to base this investment on, but I’m willing to try it out.  It will save me literally a week’s worth of work too.

BTW, if you use this, it’s billed by the sentence.  Don’t use semicolons and make sure you extend your really short sentences by turning the periods into comas.  I usually get my 450-500 word articles down to $3.40-$3.80.

As far as what I did today…I wrote up 5 more hubs so I now had 40 hubs I needed to post up(including the 16 I outsourced)…I only got around to posting up 20, so I’ll need to spend 2 hours doing the other 20 to get my total Hub count up to 140.  I’m a bit behind what I expected to have done but I’ll be making up for it with some outsourcing.  I also spent some time looking for new Hub niches and FINALLY found some more..this is what I did:

1.  Go to Google Product Search
2.  Look at the listed items for recent searches
3.  Look for items which probably cost a lot or you think would result in a high CPC
4.  Search for them in the Google Keyword Tool and find out what their CPC is and if they’d make good Hubs
5.  Go back and click “Search Products” to get a new list of products to check through.

I did this and found about 12 potential niches.

BTW, I had this asked via PM, but wanted to answer it here.  If you’re wondering why I’m suddenly switching from Sniper Sites to Adsense Hubs, The reason is, I want to diversify…I want to make my income more stable.  With Clickbank, there are days I can make $0 or only 1 sale, which is not fun.  Although if I look at it on a week by week basis, it seems more stable, I want to get daily income.

I’ve also seen the amazing potential of it from speaking with Ben who’s making somewhere around $80/day after around 2 motnhs I believe and I want to get in on that action..

I’ll probably be doing other stuff as well after all this to diversify even more, like maybe Adsense Snipers(outsourcing with these guys would be great for this) or Amazon Snipers(like what Niche Market Ninja is doing)…

Earnings For Today:

  • $27.12 – Sale for a site in the main sniper niche
  • Hops = 661
  • Adsense = $3.64 (Note, 6 of the 9 previous days I’ve made money off of my Hubs…nothing substantial, I’ve probably made around $13 in total since I put up my first 10 hubs over a month ago, but it’s still too early..need to wait 2 weeks after posting all my latest hubs before I can expect anything..backlinking should help)

Day 71 – Sniper Wrap Up And It's Over 700!

July 15th, 2009

The More You Ignore It, The Cooler You Look.

Well, looks like the hops have finally reached past 700, today I clocked in at 716 hops :>

Other than that, I finished off my last 3 sniper sites and now am finally going to be focusing my energy on building hubs…

I’m going to need to spend a good deal of time tomorrow researching various niches to jump into for the hubs.  I want to start off putting hubs in as many niches as I can so that I find out which are the good niches to focus on early on.

I’m also going to be outsourcing some UAW articles over the next little bit, gotta go figure out how many articles will need to be outsourced and also come up with what keywords they should target before I outsource them.

Once I’ve got a good idea of what niches are going to be profitable, I’ll start writing the hubs..I’m hoping that after all is said and done, I can pull in at least a solid 2k/month from Clickbank and another 3k/month from Adsense via Infobarrel and Hubpages..

After I do my hubpage and Infobarrel spree, I may then consider other ventures, like possibly creating adsense sniper sites or amazon sites geared around product keywords like what the Niche Market Ninja is doing…But first things first…

I still have a few other possible sniper sites I can create in this niche, although I’m going to keep them on the back burner for now, I need a break from the sniper sites…I’ve created 116 Sniper sites thus far…

Earnings For Today:

  • 3 Sniper site sales, $16.61, $16.61 and $27.12(this one is from a site I put up on the 23rd of June)
  • Hops = 716
  • Adsense = $6.49 (Hubpage clicks in here)

Additional Notes For The End Of The Sniper Spree:

Just want to make a note here…George speaks of making somewhere in the range of $200-500 per sniper site, however in my experience after 100 odd sniper sites for keywords with searches per month of 3k-14k EXACT match, this is not the case.  Whenever I make these sniper sites, I expect them to at best generate 1-3 sales/month..Out of all my sniper sites I’ve ever created, this has been the norm, and I have a lot of sites ranking in the top 1-5 positions for page#1.

Additionally, I don’t expect to see all my sites bringing in that, usually it’s only like 1/3 of my total sniper sites that bring in those sales each month.  That’s not to say only 1/3 are profitable, some sites may only make a sale every other month and who knows, perhaps more sites will become profitable as they age and I generate more backlinks…but this has been my experience thus far.

Day 58 – Getting Comfortable With Outsourcing

July 2nd, 2009

Outsourcing is one of those things that you keep hearing you need to master if you want to develop any kind of substantial income…Now while that is not a true statement, it is true that it can make things a lot easier.

It’s for that reason that I’ve always wanted to venture out and try it, but one of the things that usually prevents you from taking any action when it comes to outsourcing is not knowing if it’s going to pay off or not.  For articles for instance, the cheapest you’ll find them is at around $3 an article, and even at that rate it’s hard to figure out if you buy 30 articles for $90, if that can actually end up netting you back more money than the initial $90 investment.

Then there’s the concern that you’re going to get a writer that will write complete crap, someone who doesn’t even speak English properly…It’s tough when you have a perfectionist mentality as well and feel that the only way things are going to get done right is if you do it yourself…

Now my first forray into outsourcing happened maybe a  little over a month ago…I tested the waters by having 100 backlinks done via a service that used Angela’s/Steven’s backlinks.  I bought it for $67 and sent those all to Site #1.  It was a very good deal for the price, which is why I took it, and I was actually quite pleased by the results…I got a nice detailed report and that was the first time I realized that yes, other people CAN do your work JUST AS WELL AS YOU…you just have to find the right people.

The next time I tried it out was the beginning of last month when I outsourced 400+ directory submissions for Site#1 via … again, I got good service and saw that the end result of that $42 or so I spent was an increase in my PR from 1 to 2, an increase in backlinks as well as an increase in traffic by about 1.5k extra visitors a month.

The third time I tried doing it, was just recently, and instead of just doing these 1 off things, I ordered a *batch* of 11 UAW articles to be written for me.  This kind of outsourcing concerned me the most as if I had gotten back garbage which looks like it was written by someone with a poor grasp of the English language, I wouldn’t even be able to use it, or would have to waste too much time revising it…

Thankfully my first experience was pleasant, and I was happy with the quality of work given to me for the price…Ever since outsourcing these latest articles, I now feel comfortable continuing outsourcing to them on a regular basis..The most critical thing was to just take that first step…Now one of the reasons why I’m feeling comfortable outsourcing all my articles is not only because I’m now comfortable with the quality of work I’m getting back from this company, but also because I know what the return on my investment is going to be if I build sniper sites and use these UAW articles on each of my sites…

I’ve seen first hand my income increase from 1k/month to 2k/month by doing this…so with knowing that me doing all that manually results in that.. and knowing that I’ve now got someone elses writing I can trust, I now have the confidence to have this outsourced at this price on a regular basis.

So the keys to getting comfortable with outsourcing as I see them are:

1.  Outsource a component of your business which you’ve PROVEN to yourself through personal experience is profitable.

2.  Do your first outsourcing attempts on a small scale…I took a gamble by trying out, but I invested an amount that I wouldn’t have minded losing if the articles didn’t come out well.

3.  Find an outsourcing company whose work you’re pleased with.  Once you can do that, the whole outsourcing world opens up to you.

Point #1 is so key may have heard article marketing is profitable, or that UAW submissions are profitable, but until you’ve done it yourself and seen the results, you will NOT be comfortable outsourcing it and figuring out if it’s going to be cost effective… You need to do it yourself first and see how you can make it profitable before going ahead and finding a place to outsource it to.

For instance…I know that if I make another 20 sniper sites and I promote them with 10 UAW articles for $70($7×10), from experience I can tell that it will result in a $400/month income stream (based on 100 sites = 2k/month) ..even if those sites do horribly and only generate $200/month or $100/month, I’m still in the green.

Oh one other thing…it helps if you’re using the money being made by your online business to pay for this rather than money from your job as that way your online business is basically paying for itself.

I just wanted to get that all out while it was fresh in my mind, as just a few days ago I was NOT comfortable with outsourcing on a continual basis… Now of course you can still outsource something you are not too familiar with if you’re more of a gambler, but this is just for those who are a bit apprehensive, what steps they need to take.

What I did for today:

-Built 2 more sniper sites in the main sniper site niche…I still have a ton more to go, around 25ish.

-I’ve also been posting up the review page for my previous sites that have gotten indexed…all of the sites I’ve made in the last few days have been getting indexed the following day…they’re ranking on page 1 right off the bat and bringing in hops…For example, one site I built 2 days ago brought in 11 hops today.
-I submitted 2 of my outsourced UAW articles to UAW…I still have a couple more to send through, once I’ve done that I’ll probably go ahead and order another batch of UAW articles.  It’s good not having to spend time thinking about the promotion and instead being able to put 100% of your energy on pumping out sites!

Earnings For Today:

  • $20.36 – 1 sale for Site #1
  • Adsense = $7.43
  • Hops = 403

Day 35 – Still Looking For A New Plan

June 9th, 2009

I decided to hold off on Jeremy Kelsall’s Easy Bank Method for now as in the last few days there seems to be a lot of people becoming disgruntled about the method due to lack of success.  It seems like the issue here is Jeremy did not give enough info regarding what kind of newspapers to target(due to lots of money being at stake).

He mentioned he targets a small community newspapers but without an example to go on and without a better way of finding similar such newspapers, a lot of people are attempting this, failing and getting frustrated.

On a related note, Nate has also made an interesting discovery(see this comment), which is a little strange….

While this method may in fact be very profitable, I’m searching for a big money maker I have a little more assurance of being successful in…right now the only options that pop into my head are Outsourcing or PPC…

I spent some time today researching a bit more into PPC as well as outsourcing.  I think for the next little while I will be doing a bit more research as I feel it’s time I update my plan of attack.  While my business has been growing well, I want to grow my business A LOT faster, especially now that I have some good seed money to work with.

Aside from looking into PPC and Outsourcing, I also spent time looking into setting up Adsense sniper sites…Thanks for everyone’s input on it…I think I’m going to give it a go in the next few days.  What I’m thinking of doing is setting them up with a static page that has Adsense on it and then adding a few additional posts by pulling them from article directories.

What I’ll do is just change the title, post a little intro, then post the full article (including the title) beneath that and possibly finish off with a closing statement.  This way I can easily get a few more pages in so it has a bit more value as a stand alone site.

I still need to come to a decision regarding a good Adsense theme for all this…

I did create 1 sniper site today in this new niche…unfortunately these sites I’ve been making haven’t been ranking well.  It’s in the weight loss niche so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it..But really, some of these keywords already have sniper sites on page 1 and some of the keywords have competition of 5k and 1.3k (I’m on page 2 for this, I should be at page 1 for only 1.3k!)

Well, I have 2 more registered domains in this niche that I’ll probably setup before I stop making sites here….although I have a few more sniper site keywords set aside for this niche, I don’t think I’ll pursue them unless the initial batch start ranking better.

I think what I’ll end up doing next is creating some adsense sniper sites…

Earnings For Today:

  • $47.02 in CB Sales (2 sniper site sales, 1 from the main sniper site niche)
  • Adsense = $8.51
  • Hops = 460

    Day 32 – Adsense Sites?

    June 6th, 2009

Well, today I spent some time actually looking into the notion of creating sniper sites specifically for earning Adsense income…

I was able to find a niche where the CPC was around $3-6…I was able to find 19 websites that I could target, most of them had 4.4-8.4k searches for EXACT match in the Google Keyword Research Tool.

I’ve still got to get through with this batch of sniper sites, but when I’m done, I may try my hand at that…I even went looking for some adsense themes and found some which may be good (ad-flex-niche and bluesense).

Aside from that I got 1 more sniper site done in this new niche which makes a total of 4…I’m going to go through them a bit more rapid fire the next few days, I much prefer the 2 a day rythm.

Other than that, I had a pretty good day of sales again.  I had 6 sales today for a total of $133.36.  3 Were from sniper sites and 2 for site #1.

I don’t want to get too happy with this though as I feel I have a long way to go still and this needs to happen FASTER!…I need to get to the point where that is like an AVERAGE amount I get per day.  I’m either going to need to step up my site creation big time somehow or look into PPC or outsourcing…

    Earnings For Today:

    • $133.36 from 6 sales ( 2 Sales from Site #1 = $26.38 + $20.36, 2 sales for the main sniper site niche = $27.12 + $16.61(this is for the second product in the sniper site niche that converts at like 1:300…the last sale is from another sniper site = $31.85)
    • Adsense = $7.22
    • Hops = 451
    • Total for the day = $140.58

    Day 2 – Unique Article Wizard-A-Thon & Outsourcing

    May 7th, 2009

OK so today was quite tiring, I needed to do some UAW submissions for many of my sites so I could automate their backlinks.  Up to today I had already run UAW on 8 of my sniper sites, but that left 21 in need of backlinks…so today, I queued up *7* articles for Unique Article Wizard.

Each run of UAW takes me about 1 hour and for each of those 7 submissions, I put in 2 links at the end, each link pointing to a different sniper site, so I’m building links to 14 of my sniper sites with all of this work… I set UAW to distribute the links to around 1k article sites for each submission at a rate of 5-7 a day.

That just leaves 7 sniper sites to run UAW on which I can take care of in 4 more submissions, then I’ll need to do some submissions of my sniper sites to some of the websites from Steve’s Backlinks package.

Oh, BTW yesterday I had thought I reached a high with 90 hops, but the day wasn’t over, the number of hops yesterday reached 104! O_o

One thing I wanted to mention yesterday was I had tried a service from a WSO which offered 100 high PR backlinks(mostly from Steve’s Backlink package) to a site of yours for I think it was $67..After buying that, I got a nice report of where all my links were and so far, the result has been I’ve moved from #5-6 on page 1 to #1 on page 1 for my keyword.  It will be interesting to see though if that placement sticks as I’ve achieved that before in the past and dropped back down.

Having taken this step, I’ve now been thinking more and more about outsourcing.  I think that once you reach the point where you’re earning $300-$500/month you can start considering outsourcing content creation to someone in the Philippines with a lot more comfort since your business profits would cover it.  At around $2-$3/h, you can hire someone to do content creation for you full-time($300-$500/month).  Until you get to the point where your business can fund something like that though, Outsourcing can be a scary place to venture.

I think I’m going to go back to site creation tomorrow…

    Earnings For Today:

    • 1 Sale for Site #1 = $26.38 (#of hops = 81)
    • Adsense = $5.62

Thought I’d mention that I have a bunch of sniper sites made in a certain niche where the keywords I targeted have anywhere between 5-22k searches a month for phrase match.  I’ve gotten quite a lot of hops from the sites placing on the first page (126 so far spread out over several sites) but haven’t gotten a sale out of it yet….While these are really high search numbers, the keywords are not the most targeted “buying” keywords….Will be interesting to see when these turn a profit.
