Day 84 – Setting Up More Real Estate

July 28th, 2009

Ok, so today I spent the day putting up more backlinks to my hubs via Infobarrels…I was able to get 30 up which leaves me with 40 more Infobarrels left to put up. These 40 are all done at this point, they’ve been outsourced…so they are ready to go.

One thing that kind of annoyed me though when putting these up is they removed a bunch of my links to Hubpages.. They don’t like it when you link to your site at the bottom of the article as you would in Ezines…it seems like they would prefer you work your links into the body instead. So I had to go back and find ways to get my links into the body in the natural flow of the article.

Now I tried for the hell of it a search on one of my keywords where I just put up an Infobarrel and noticed that it was already appearing on page 1 of Google for it’s keyword! I haven’t checked many of them, but hopefully the same will be happening for other Infobarrels and this will be the start of my web properties ranking well enough to generate me some clicks.

Earnings For Today:

  • $27.12- 1 sale from a sniper site
  • Hops = 537
  • Adsense = $3.66

BTW, this month looks like it’s going to be the month of refunds…I can’t believe just how many I’ve had (13) and today I just got 2 more, almost $300 worth πŸ™Β  This is why it’s good to have some Adsense income where you don’t have to worry about refunds stealing away your income.

I just blogged about Infobarrell and the linking issue. They said my links had too strong of a “call to action” and that they have to be contextual links. So, I had to go back and reedit one article.

Oh man, sorry to hear about the refunds and you’re right about adsense being a more solid income because it’s guaranteed payment.

Ya, at least it was only 1 article, I had to go back and edit like 15 of them O_O

Wow, I am getting irked with infobarrell! They added words to my title!!! My title was available when I added the article and now they just added junk to it to make it more “catchy” in their eyes. You cannot edit your title either after you submit it so I can’t change it back. I am getting quite frustrated with their service.

That’s messed up…I’d e-mail them and tell them to change it back.

Hi Mike …..that too bad about so many refunds πŸ™

I just wondered have you ever computed your average refund rate per month?
I know with clickbank its high, but if its over 10% it means its above average. …CB makes it so simple for people to refund its crazy.

You might also try offering a bonus they receive a few weeks after they have purchased, to lower the refund rate? ..just s thought.

I’m not sure what my avg refund rate is but I feel that it’s more useful to look at refund rates for various products..I know that some of my niches are quite prone to refunds.

there’s really nothing you can do if someone wants to refund something..

One of the reasons for the high refund rate is just *1* single niche where I’ve had 11 sales and 6 refunds! It’s really a ridiculous niche that I built an authority site around…

I wouldn’t do the whole offering of bonuses, my goal is to create hands free income generation..I’ll just focus on making more sales.

    Hey Mike,

Sorry that your links got edited out of your article. If your user name is what I think it is on Infobarrel, I sent you an email after the first couple of articles came through. It looks like the way you are doing the articles now is great, however if you would like to place a call to action with your article, we allow it in the signature box.

Anyways, I really appreciate all the work you’ve tossed up recently and look forward to working more with you. Feel free to contact me personally if you need a hand with anything, or if anything is bothering you. My email address attached to this post is both my personal email as well as my Gtalk IM address.

    Thanks again,
    Ryan McKenzie

I love infobarrel. Their business model is exactly what I am looking for in a partner. I’ve put up some lengthy (over 1000 word articles) up over this past week (started on Saturday) and the articles are all performing very well and were all indexed by Google, literally, within an hour or two. I’ve tried my hand at ehow but I’ve made more money on certain topics with infobarrel in a week than I have in three months with ehow. I think your decision to go with infobarrel was right on the money and I look forward to following your progress.

Ahh wow. That sucks thats too many refunds. I’ve had 1-2 a day but I only make 1-2 sales a day. We need to make more sites so it doesn’t affect the daily income πŸ˜‰ diversify.
