Day 68 – 4 Sniper Sites & Unexpected Sales

July 12th, 2009

I spent the day today making up for lost time and pumped out 4 full sniper sites.  I think that now I’m just going to focus on Sniper Sites only so I can get the remaining 12-14 or so Sniper sites done and out of the way….reason being that I really want to focus all my attention on Hub building.

Once all these sniper sites are done, I’m going to do a bunch of outsourcing and get UAW articles written up for them and submit them as they come in…in addition, I’ll be seeing just how many hubs I can get done each day.

Another thing I did today was to make 3 of my authority sites which were previously sending people to Market Health products over to Clickbank products instead.  I just swapped out the affiliate link.  They’re going to be expecting a physical product and instead get an informational product, however I’ve sent over 800 hops to them and only gotten 1 $15 sale, so it will be interesting to see if CB would do a better job with that traffic.

One thing I forgot to mention is that over the last few days I have been bookmarking about 2-4 hubs a day with Bookmarking Demon, I’m going to go through them all bit by bit with the program.

Earnings For Today:

  • $43.73 – 2 sales for the main sniper site, I made a $27.12 sale and 1 sale is for one of my newer sites that I made on the 1st of this month, $16.61..
  • Adsense = $2.38 (some of this was from Hubpages)
  • 498 hops

And aother thing…I just realized that I’ve been making money with Ebay, I just hadn’t checked it!  One thing I did a while back was place an Ebay bar in my sidebar for one of my sniper sites…I didn’t expect much to come of it, but the only reason I did it was because the keyword I chose was one where ppl were looking for a physical product rather than information ex: “plasma tv for sale”…I just found out that on the 4th of July I got a $12.29 sale from it and on the 9th I got a $25.63 sale O_o …interesting…

    I love those unexpected sales. I have a couple affiliations that every once in a while make a sale. I do no promoting for them, just sites I set up and forgot about. But every now and then, I’ll get this check in the mail for like $50-$150.

    I love ebay but they banned me last week! Accused me of “cookie stuffing”, I don’t even know how to stuff a cookie. I’m so pissed off, there goes a big part of my monthly income and now I have to go change about 15 sites, remove all ebay listing and replace with something else! YUCK!

    @Rob

    Ya, I was still getting sales from some Youtube ringtone videos I put up until a few months ago as well, back from my BH days. btw Rob, I sent you an email..

    Shelly,

    That would piss me off, I’d be calling them and asking to speak with the manager/team lead regarding this. I wouldn’t let something like this go if you’re innocent, that’s just BS!

    I have MarketHealth on a few sites and haven’t had any sales and not even many visits, but the traffic is low also. I’d like to swap it out but not sure with what. Are you trying the ClickBank ads? I’d like banners for the sidebars but haven’t found many good options.

    Question for you, Mike. I’m curious how things are working out with your snipe sites where you set up both the .net and .org. Is there any trend in which ranks better?

    @Carrie

    Hey Carrie, I haven’t tried the Clickbank Ads…the thing I don’t like about that is it sends them to various different offers rather than just 1..

    The reason I swapped my sites out to CB, even though my writing on my site doesn’t support it is because I figure it will be better than sending them to Market Health which never converts.

    Regarding my sniper sites where I setup the .net and .org…I’ve found that in almost all instances, the .net’s have taken the place of the .org’s. The .org’s are gone, going from 50 visits a day to like 4-6 a day.

    It seems like if a new sniper site is introduced it can completely take out a previously existing one. This has happened in the majority of cases, hence why my hops have not gone up for those 23 sites I did.

    …other times though, they have ranked on the same page with the .orgs, I haven’t analyzed it enough to see which ranks better, but I think the .net’s are taking the place of the .org’s due to their newness rather than the fact that they’re .net’s…this is just speculation though…I suppose someone else might look at these results and think .net’s rank better than .orgs.

    Will be interesting to see what happens as I continue to build backlinks to all these sites and the sites stabilize more with age.

    @Mikeman
    Sorry mike, I think I may have deleted your email. I have big gap in the number of emails between 11:30 and 1pm. I occasionaly bulk delete stuff if I’m not looking for something in particular. I’ve been getting hit with tons of canadian pharmacy spam, so I just bulk delete sometimes. Can you send it again? Thanks.

    Thanks Mike. I guess I was wondering if the same domain name can both rank on Page 1. Just things I have been pondering lately as I consider buy new domains.
