Day 392 – End of May Totals!

I’ll start off by saying that I put up another adsense sniper today (#223)… I also had some nice income from adsense as some of my later sites (#174+) pulled in quite a bit more this day.ย  Here are the earnings for May 31st:

  • CB = $67.47 – 2 CB sniper sales
  • Adsense = $157.15
  • Total = $224.62

As for the end of May totals, here they are:

Adsense = $3,589.04 ($3,364.57 last month, increase of $224.47)
CB = $1,203.08 GROSS ($1,126.92 last month)
CB= $1,040.56 NET ($1,110.31 last month, decrease of $69.75)
Hops = 7,362 (6,750 last month)
Gross Sales = 52 (48 last month)
Net Sales = 46 (47 last month)
Refunds = 6 totaling $162.52 (1 last month)
15 UAW sales/renewals (minus 1 refund) = $348.40
1 BLS sale/renewal = $29.10
Human Rewriter = $167.00 (thanks :>)
eBay = $29.06 CAN($27.83 US)

Grand Total = $5,201.93! ($5,406.73 last month)

I’m pretty happy with where things are at right now (5-5.5k) considering I haven’t been going all out building my business the last while :>

    Good show Mike. Congrats on the great repeat numbers!

    Want to sell your eBay affiliate stuff to me? Can’t get the idiots to approve me…

  2. June 1st, 2010 at 16:30 | #2

    Great stats Mike-hopefully one day mine will be up there!

    @Mace
    I cannot get eBay to approve me either-I was an affiliate with them 2 years ago, and now I cannot get back in!

    Hey Mike,

    Do you do another RSS blast after you add additional pages to your sites?

    Thanks,

    I have a site. Monday-Wednesday it will be #2 in google, but Thursday-Sunday it will be out of #100. This has been lasted 3 weeks. Some has the problem? Any advice?

  6. June 1st, 2010 at 19:48 | #6

    Well I am sooooo glad I found this site.
    On the one hand it is a fantastic source of information and inspiration but on the other hand, it is frankly ridiculous how much money you are earning and makes my own efforts seem quite pedestrian.

    That aside, I would like to thank you for recording your journey so diligently and allowing others to see the gradual progression. It is nice to see something so transparent as I feel that I could also achieve what you have done. All it takes is time, effort and a bucket load of patience.
    Thanks again from the not so sunny island of England! Bloody rain.

    Looking good, I’ve noticed a spike in adsense revenue today as well ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. June 1st, 2010 at 21:20 | #8

    Mike – question:

    When you submit articles to UAW – do you spin each rewrite a little bit before submitting?

  9. June 1st, 2010 at 23:03 | #9

    Nice! Stability rocks, man. So, those CB returns — are they the same product? That sucks. Not to rain on the parade, by any stretch – but is it a trend?

    Just curious, I *don’t want to know* the product, but just how you’d handle that.

    But spot on! I am…let’s see…almost 1/5th of where you’re at! (Progress)

  10. June 1st, 2010 at 23:04 | #10

    (That is, not counting Elance, in which case I’m 1/2 the man you are…but I doubt you’re counting every income stream here…let’s pretend I’m 1/2. Makes me feel better.)

  11. June 2nd, 2010 at 04:01 | #11

    Congrats on your another > $5k month. Looking at the amount of time you put in for this month is simply fantastic. 2 hours a day?! That means you are earning something likeโ€ฆ.$84 an hour!

    Great to see!

    So I just got an email from BLS that they opened up for the next month… but damn I didn’t see that the price is $100! I’m still debating between them and UAW… Do you have an opinion on which one is best? the 1000 BL limit per month is not a problem for me. However, I haven’t seen you mention backlinking runs using BLS in a while yet you still do some with UAW

    I’m probably going to try UAW first. The price I suppose will be about the same though since I’ll have to get some outsourced articles done… Probably will amount to $100 for the month ( $69 or so + at least $30 worth of outsourced articles).

    hey Mike
    just done with Q n A at the “read-me-first-tips-info”
    I dint understand where you were saying that u research “1 main page KW and keywords for inner pages ”
    what are inner page keywords?

    thank you

    @Mace

    Thanks Mace.. Haha, I’m going to keep it, I’ll be doing Ebay at some point in the future…but if they’re giving you such a tough time I’d just move onto another monetization method.

    @Kelly

    Hey thanks Kelly, for sure.. just a matter of persistently putting in the hours + getting work done!

    @Steve

    I just do 1 RSS blast after the site is created…

    @calfred

    Tnx Calfred :>

    @jopoli

    It’s hard to say what’s going on, are you currently backlinking the site in any way? jumps like that tend to happen as a result of backlinking runs.

    Either way, my advice would be to not worry about it. Apply your backlinking strategy to the site and move onto the next…come back to it down the road after you’ve built another batch of 10, 20 sites and re-assess…if it’s still not where you want, do more backlinking…then go back to making other sites again..rince and repeat.

    @Tiptopcat @ Money Making Experiment

    Hey thanks bud…I feel where you’re at. I started logging my income on a daily basis back when I was at the $300/month level on another forum prior to this site, and even before that I was at the $0 level, posting about my 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.. sale on the Firepow forum… I would post there every time I got a sale and it was a huge deal each time I saw someone purchase something with my link…that was back around June-Nov of 2008. With time, effort, perseverance/persistence, I got to where I am now…I credit a lot of it as the product of intense desire. If you want something bad enough and you’ve got the right mindset, you can achieve it.

    Of course I still had my doubts along my journey every now and then, but it was always my strong desire and vision to make it a reality that pulled me through.

    @Jorik

    Tnx Jorik..I don’t do any extra spinning for my UAW submissions.

    @JamestheJust on Elance

    Thanks James…the 6 returns are spread out among 3 products, nothing to be concerned about.

    If a certain product was getting a lot of returns though, I’d handle that moving on to promoting other products with my future sites. I might change the product on existing sites if I thought there was an alternative that might perform better, but that’s always a pain in the ass.

    lol at the 2nd comment

    @Tinman

    Hey Tinman, tnx..haha ya. Thing is I’m sure the income would remain within the same range, give or take, even if I put in no hours.. that’s the power of passive income.

    @Leandro

    The answer is in the readme and title of the most recent post..

    @TJPann

    Tnx TJ :>

    @All Is Well

    Tnx man, it’s made easier if you want it bad enough..

    @Alex

    Ya, I documented the results I got from BLS in a post you can find in my readme, boosted my income by $20/day…

    But if you were selecting between the two, I would go with UAW. It’s cheaper, has no limit on submissions and leads to more registered Yahoo backlinks per run.

    @steven

    Each site has 5 pages, 1 page is the main keyword you’re trying to rank for..ex: brown piano stool (hence brownpianostool.org)…the other 4 pages are added on related keywords to flesh the site out and are considered the inner pages.

    Hey Mike,

    newbie here.

    read the tips and info page.

    i an new to IM and currently putting together my first authority site using SBI. I saw that you were only making $300-$600 a month from 3 authority sites that you had a year ago. I was hoping that i could bring in $1000 a month from 1 authority site. Looks like i was being naive to think this. Do you think if you hadn’t started making CB/Adsense snipers and instead focused on building traffic for those authority sites that you could have been making more than $5k a month now? Also, do use the same xfactor method to make the CB snipers too?

    thanks
    Stu

  20. June 2nd, 2010 at 18:52 | #20

    @Stu
    Not to answer for Mike, but if you read the XFactor book, John “XFactor” (of the Adsens3 master’s course, top right of the blog here), he journals a bit about how he started out w/an authority site in a good niche – very competitive niche – and was making $2k-3.5k a month from it.

    The problem with that model, however, in puttin’ all the eggs into one basket, is that you have to *work that bad boy* by building more content, more links, getting more traffic…

    Heck, if you have 1 authority site, you bet your backlinks that you’re going to be making sure that the Titanic don’t sink…

    So that’s why he concentrated on the mini-site thing. They’re quick and easy, and if you have your profit spread across 100-300 sites, then you have more stability: sites 1-25 don’t perform in June, but sites 26-50 double their income, then sites 51-65 get sandboxed because Matt Cutt$ had a bad day (or whatever goes on at the big G)…that’s OK because sites 66-89 actually are dumping you with clicks…

    etc.

    Conversely, you have one site that rakes it in in June. What happens in September?

    Do the products you sell on this site always perform? Will the company you’re affiliating with still support their aff program?

    etc., etc.

    Put all your eggs in one basket, and you need to baby sit said basket. The micro-niche thang requires much less work to police, and they *work*.

    Interestingly, John *still has that authority site* and probably others, in addition to a rockin’ AdSens3 income…

    Just food for thought.

  21. June 2nd, 2010 at 18:53 | #21

    @Stu
    Oh, forgot to mention that often that one authority site will *not* make your quota of $1k…even if the last 3 months it did. So, just something to chew on (not saying that you shouldn’t have any authority sites, but just suggesting you diversify).

    hey James

    thanks very much for the detailed reply. alot of great info in there for me. yes i will deversify for sure. First of all, i will make this authority site with SBI coz there is so much a need to learn. after that i think i will defo go down the micro niche route.

    cheers for the help

    @Stu

    James pretty much answered it, I’ll just say you can make money in a variety of diff ways, it’s up to you which path you’re most comfortable taking…

    If you go the route of authority sites though, it will take longer to build up your income.

    @Stu
    f’sho! glad it helped – all that info was from the AdSens3 master’s course, btw — i’m not that smart left on my own.
