Day 370 – 2 UAW Submissions
There’s a better quality version of this out there, but this was the only one I could find that I could embed…
Just got 2 UAW submissions done for the day as I had to spend some time dealing with a computer problem..
I thought I’d have to take my computer in…I was not able to boot from the new hard drive I had installed with Windows 7 and instead I was booting via my old hard drive which had Windows Vista on it still.
I made sure the cabling going into the hard drive was in properly, and that seemed to add the hard drive back to the bios when before it was absent…I then altered the boot priority and was able to get it booting off the correct hard drive.
So aside from the 2 UAW submissions, seeing as how my backlinking to my inner pages via those 30 UAW submissions was not showing any noticable results…I decided to go back and up the # of submissions from 4, 5, 6 and 7/day to 15/day for all of them.
the reason i had the submissions so low for some was because I was backlinking multiple pages for a single domain and didn’t want to risk any issues. However, seeing as how I wasn’t seeing any results and my income has been dipping, I figured what the hell, and just upped it all to 15/day, for better or for worse. So we’ll see how this changes things over the next few weeks…

Hey mike,
Nice website, I have been following this site for a while. Congradulations on all your success. I had a quick question, I was wondering on average how many page impressions you get daily for your adsense.
Thanks
Asap
@Asap
Hey tnx man..
You can’t talk about that kind of stuff as it’s against Adsense TOS..
@Mikeman
Nice – would like to see how these submissions pan out for you. I’m a bit of a UAW freak myself… (it’s your fault)
Hi Mike
I have a question on keyword research and accuracy of google keyword data please….I know you now use exact numbers only when determining niches to get into however I have been using phrase up until now and was shocked recently when I took my first look at the exacts on my sites to see some went from like 1000 day phrase to 44 per day exact searches. I am yet to get to the top of google on many but in 1 that did hit #1 for a few days the traffic was way less than expected on those days.
My method to work out expected traffic has been 20% of phrase, but am now thinking I need to work on exact also or exact only. My question is do you get a feeling for the percentage of phrase and/or exact searches that reflects real results when you hit #1. I know there are many variables but roughly.
Thanks and Regards Manny
@Manny
Its important to remember that even at position one you will only get ~40% of the people searching the term.
Also, use exact all the time. I made the same mistake.
Do you think that the new google changes has anything to do with lower income?
Google has now emphasized the shopping results to the left (which used to be at the top) and this makes surfers notice the shopping search option.
It’s still early days but i hope that this won’t affect us SEO’ers much…
Mike,
I was curious if you have tried Blog Blueprint, and if you have what is your take on it?
Google has been doing a LOT of changes in the last couple of weeks and it has had a great deal of effects on traffic for long tails. Been quite a bit of discussion about it in various forums.
@JamestheJust on Elance
Haha, ya…
@Manny
Hey Manny, I too went by phrase after I had read Google Sniper, however I later found out what you have, that it is NOT a good metric to go by..always go by exact.
@Zeb
You could speculate, but really, who cares? The answer will always be the same:
build more pages,
build more sites,
backlink more..
@Kelly
I’ve actually never heard of it..It’s because I don’t hang around the Warrior Forum and don’t look into what the latest backlinking tool or site building technique is.
@Mikeman
Your reply to Kelly is a good reminder not to get “Shiny Nickel Syndrome” – stopping every time a shiny nickel happens to sparkle just so, off to stage right.
When you have a method that works, why keep looking? ((This is directed at myself, Kelly, not at your question.))
There are RSS mashers, Directory Submitters, blog commenting tools…pligg and scuttle lists to buy…the list goes on, but if a system works, stick with it.
