Day 35 – Still Looking For A New Plan

I decided to hold off on Jeremy Kelsall’s Easy Bank Method for now as in the last few days there seems to be a lot of people becoming disgruntled about the method due to lack of success.  It seems like the issue here is Jeremy did not give enough info regarding what kind of newspapers to target(due to lots of money being at stake).

He mentioned he targets a small community newspapers but without an example to go on and without a better way of finding similar such newspapers, a lot of people are attempting this, failing and getting frustrated.

On a related note, Nate has also made an interesting discovery(see this comment), which is a little strange….

While this method may in fact be very profitable, I’m searching for a big money maker I have a little more assurance of being successful in…right now the only options that pop into my head are Outsourcing or PPC…

I spent some time today researching a bit more into PPC as well as outsourcing.  I think for the next little while I will be doing a bit more research as I feel it’s time I update my plan of attack.  While my business has been growing well, I want to grow my business A LOT faster, especially now that I have some good seed money to work with.

Aside from looking into PPC and Outsourcing, I also spent time looking into setting up Adsense sniper sites…Thanks for everyone’s input on it…I think I’m going to give it a go in the next few days.  What I’m thinking of doing is setting them up with a static page that has Adsense on it and then adding a few additional posts by pulling them from article directories.

What I’ll do is just change the title, post a little intro, then post the full article (including the title) beneath that and possibly finish off with a closing statement.  This way I can easily get a few more pages in so it has a bit more value as a stand alone site.

I still need to come to a decision regarding a good Adsense theme for all this…

I did create 1 sniper site today in this new niche…unfortunately these sites I’ve been making haven’t been ranking well.  It’s in the weight loss niche so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it..But really, some of these keywords already have sniper sites on page 1 and some of the keywords have competition of 5k and 1.3k (I’m on page 2 for this, I should be at page 1 for only 1.3k!)

Well, I have 2 more registered domains in this niche that I’ll probably setup before I stop making sites here….although I have a few more sniper site keywords set aside for this niche, I don’t think I’ll pursue them unless the initial batch start ranking better.

I think what I’ll end up doing next is creating some adsense sniper sites…

Earnings For Today:

  • $47.02 in CB Sales (2 sniper site sales, 1 from the main sniper site niche)
  • Adsense = $8.51
  • Hops = 460

Have you thought about swapping out CB for adsense on some of your ranking sniper sites that aren’t selling? Or maybe the CPC isn’t worth it.

I have some domains I’ve changed my mind on and I was thinking of setting up simple sites with just a few pages to see if I can get anything out of them, even if just until the domain expires. I may not go with adsense, but there are lots of other options (kontera, CB ads, etc).

Have you checked out UAW for content? I had a throw away domain which I have been posting UAW articles to. Too early to know if it will ever rank, plus I haven’t done any links, but the content is automatically sent to you which is nice. It was worth a shot.

The reason I don’t swap out CB for Adsense is that the sites that didn’t produce a sale one month, might produce a sale the next..the issue with a lot of the sites I have is conversion, but if I give it enough time it should convert to a sale and that sale will be more $$ than the adsense I’d get(I believe the CPC for the sites would end up being only .50 or so, which means I’d get a fraction of that)

I’ve never tried getting content from UAW as I’ve never liked the idea of getting other people’s links on my site..it’s only now that I’m considering this because I’d want to quickly setup some adsense sites with more than just 3 pages. I probably wouldn’t want to try that out though as I like to have control over what goes on my sites.

Hi Mike, I saw you on the FirePow 2.0 roll out as a testimonial provider. Are you still involved with that program? It looks quite impressive but the cost is quite high if you have a limited income.

      @Peter (pacecom)

Hey Peter, ya, I still use Firepow, I’ve been using it to create all my sites, site creation is a headache without it.

If you’re looking into it, there are ways you can get a discount on Firepow, although if income is limited for you, I’d wait until the income from your business can pay for it first before trying it out.

I also saw you on the Firepow page. After watching the videos I am very, very tempted. But the price tag is steep! I’m going to ponder for awhile on that one! Are people really doing that well with all that recycled content on the Firepow blogs?

Hey Mike, what about this? http://www.warriorforum.com/ad-networks-cpa-cpm-cpl-millionaire-makers/80882-12-step-blueprint-making-money-cpa.html

It sounds like a solid plan with hardly any investment. I am very interested in this myself!

Sara(WAHM) : Ya, I’ve been on the Firepow page for a long time, since back around August of last year. I can’t comment on how well the content blitz works as I haven’t actually used it and I haven’t frequented the forum to see if anyone else has posted their results with it. That was actually something I was interested in testing out at some point…

Sara, ya, that’s interesting… His conversions are pretty crazy(33,38,42%), I’d be interested to know what that product he’s promoting is as that seems to be key to how profitable this is for him.

I’m still deciding on what to do next, I have a few ideas though…

Idea #1: Keyword Academy – Building hubs for Adsense

      Idea #2: Angela’s GoArticles method:

    8. June 9th, 2009 at 19:43 | #8

Haha Mike! I have been doing Angela’s Goarticle method for 1 week. I did 2 articles last week and have been building about 10-20 back links a day for each. So far, no bites but then again they are not even ranking for the keywords yet either. 🙁

@Mikeman Hi Mike! How can I get a discount on Firepow? Can you email me the info? Thanks!

It’s funny what a small world this blog is. I just got my first GoArticle up yesterday, but only have a handful of links. I have also considered joining the TKA membership (already read the free blog) just to get ideas, have others to talk with, etc.

Sara, what kind of backlinks, Angela’s? Maybe the competition for that keyword is a bit tough, try another keyword.

Although, I’ve found certain niches too can be a real pain to rank for even if the numbers seem good(my last few sniper sites in the weight loss niche have not been ranking as high as you would normally expect)

Hey Jill, I actually don’t know it off the top of my head, but I’m sure you could find the discount if you looked around for it…

Carrie, I think a good idea would be to do 10 articles at a time, then use Steve’s backlinks to build backlinks to all 10 of them through site blogrolls which accommodate 10 links a piece.

I’ve never heard of the TKA membership..

Sorry, that’s The Keyword Academy (TKA). They have a membership program that goes into more detail and they have a fourm. I think it’s $1 for the first month and them around $30 per month after that.

The 10 articles at a time is a good idea, thanks.
