Day 341 – 15 More Ezine Submissions

April 11th, 2010

Just got done doing another 15 Ezine submissions…

It seems like adsense is really dipping low, the total’s for the 10th were only $83.84..hasn’t been that low in a long time.Β  I’m guessing it’s either due to dips in rankings or increased competition.

Well, all part of the game..I’ll be focusing more on backlinking this month to ensure that I get that back up…After I do another few Ezine submissions, I’ll do the UAW runs and follow that up with more backlinking for sites #174-204…

If need be, I’ll do even more backlinking on top of all this with BLS and see where my income is at.

Earnings For Today:

  • CB = $47.55 – 2 CB sniper sales
  • Adsense = $83.84
  • Totals = $131.39

    Isn’t the drop in your adsense income coming from the fact that your sites are dropping in the SERPS? Guess Google doesn’t like these sites, any suggestions on this?

    An how are your .info domains ranking, are these harder to rank than .com?

    @Tim

    Sites go up and down all the time, it’s a natural part of the game and has nothing to do with what Google likes/doesn’t like.

    I don’t bother with .infos for any of my sites, and ya, they do take more work to rank than a top level domain(com/org/net).

    Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it! Good luck with your sites, Tim.

    Why don’t you put all your effort in 10 of your sites..for one month..and see results..

    @All Is Well

    Not my style…I’d see greater gains by focusing my efforts on backlinking up 200 of my properties as opposed to just 10.

    @Mikeman
    Check your .php code for your AdSense blocks…seriously. I’ve noticed my top-level site (which made me $767 last month in aff sales, $300+ so far this month) – it’s had ZERO CTR lately…but no drop in page impressions.

    I had an email exchange w/googl3 about it, they actually emailed me back, and they said they were looking into it…

    I scrutinized the site, the ad code, and there was one word added to my description for the channel – just part of the code snippet – and so I just cut/pasted my code directly from Ads3ns3 into my file. Will see if this affects my CTR…

    But even at your level, I’d check 2c if any of your sites have zero CTR, or if a top-performing site went way down…etc…and see if the code is different.

    I’m 100% sure I’ve been compromised in my security..just got a new laptop with better specs than my desktop (thanks, mom…love my mom, and yes, at 34 years old, I’ll gladly take it, thank you very much) – so I need to switch over and do a complete re-format on this CPU.

    It may take you some time, but it’s worth a look. This $83 seems like a red flag for your empire, Mike.

    On another note, in my case with WP sites, is there a security plugin that can take care of this?

    @JamestheJust on Elance

    I checked a few of my top earners, everything looks fine, my adsense pub ID is still there.

    It looks like it was a situation in which sites were just earning less than they normally do for whatever reason…

    This kinda thing is not something I get overly concerned about as I know with another backlink run to all my sites I’ll be doing fine.

    Thankfully today, things seem like they’re back to normal though, I’m at $90 and it is 8:55pm (day ends at 3am).

    I wouldn’t be surprised if Easter just threw the entire week off.

  9. April 11th, 2010 at 20:26 | #9

    @Mikeman
    Right on – for me, my pubID was the same, but other parts of the code were off (description of the channel didn’t match, the ad slot was entirely off…weird odd little things).

    I’m super happy to hear you’re back on track! And I’d gladly trade one of your bad days for my best still. But not for long. πŸ™‚

    Josh may be right.

    Hi Mike,

    I have looked through your posts and FAQ but dont see much on what you use to find whether keywords have exact domain available? ie Is there a site that you can drop a bunch of keywords in bulk and select com org net? Also in which order do you research? I mean if it must be exact then you go into MNF and find good keywords, wait to you get a bunch then check domains?

    I am just looking for a faster way to bulk check lots of keywords for exacts……

    Thanks

    Manny

    man i got that dreadful email from adsense today saying one of my sites didn’t follow policies…it’s a site i set up last year that hasn’t made any money for me, but i got a warning from it…anyways, has anyone planned for adsense alternative in case *crap* hits the fan?

  12. April 12th, 2010 at 01:18 | #12

    @Tony
    the beauty of following the Xfactor/Masters course is that you will target product-based niches (such as “piano stools”) – this means that if you get G-slapped, you either: 1) comply with the changes (sounds like other issues are wrong if you haven’t made money from it), or 2) go with affiliate links on those products.

    Another idea is to monetize using Kontera or Infolinks, or the like…but affiliate links in the text for these sites is a good way to go if your site generates enough traffic/rank.

    James,

    Do you or anyone else know if the google ads on contact us/privacy policy/about us pages are ok? I use Wp so it automatically puts it on there for me. I could remove it, but I need to go thru all the sites to do it individually. What are your thoughts on that?

    @JamestheJust on Elance

    Hmm, who knows..

    @Tony

    Damn man, sorry to hear about that..at least they gave you a warning though.

    Ya, your other options would be Ebay or Amazon as well..or even getting another adsense account under another legal entity(An incorporation).

    @ Tony – not sure whether it affects your account to have adsense on these pages. I use the easy adsense plugin and it has an option to suppress ads on certain pages, categories or just have them appear on posts only which is perfect really.

    @Manny

    Hey Manny, MNF lets you check with 1 click…there is an option next to the kw to check if the .com/org/net are available, when you click it you see either an X or a checkmark next to each one.

    The first thing I do is scan over the keywords for ones that seem to be good(ie: good exact # of searches/CPC, then I check the domain availability…if it’s available, I then check page 1 of Google for it to see what the competition is like.

    Hi Mike & guys,

    Just to let you know. I was earning $60/ day just before easter hit. About 1 week before Easter, my ecpm started tanking like crazy, and my biggest earner went from super high ecpm to something ridiculously low.

    It’s been like this for the last 2.5 weeks my earnings have been halved.

    It’s nothing to do with .php code here I think. Might be something to do with advertiser budgets getting drained out before the Easter rush….or something related to that.

    CTR’s have just dropped for some of my niches. But just before the tank, they were going insanely high..

    I use Dynadot they have a bulk search, where you can enter up to 100. I use them to buy my domains, and I believe you have to have an account. It works out good since I do not have MNF.

    @Tony

    Yeah man it’s against the terms of service to put ads on those pages. Clickbump is an easy solution for wordpress and it’s specifically designed for just these type of sites. It’s pretty inexpensive too.

    @Mark S

    I wonder if it is the new advertisers from the Certified Ad Net. I’ve wondered how targeted ads from these companies will be and if the EPC is lower from them.

    Hmm, ya…oh well, the answer is just to build more sites and do more backlinking!

    I hear ya. I had the same issue when I started.

    I used the whydowork adsense plug-in. Its like the easy adsense plugin Bobby mentioned. It lets you put adsense on every page but you can also list pages you don’t want adsense placed on like contact us, privacy policy,about us.
