Day 277 – 26 Inner Pages + New Domain KW's Found

February 6th, 2010

Cool music vid

Today was kind of a miscellaneous day where I did a bunch of stuff.Β  I took 26 pages that one of my outsourcers had written up and posted that as inner pages to 5 different sites.Β  I also found 4 inner keywords for 3 of the domains I have registered (I need to get keywords ready for next week’s batch of sites I’m putting up)..And finally, in the process of searching for these inner keywords to use for my new sites, I found myself 4 new domain keywords which I registered.

Earnings For Today:

  • CB = $60.12 – 2 sales for authority site #2 + 1 sniper site sale
  • Hops = 172
  • Adsense = $109.46
  • Total = $169.58

    Mike I have a confession…. and I really should know better, being that I read this blog EVERY DAY…..

    For the longest I have been stubborn believing that I could still rank easily for my main keywords even if I added something on the end like info or something similar.

    Well, I went through my sites and took a hard look at everything, earnings, rankings and by far my top earners and the highest ranking are the ones that had nothing added on the end. They were the exact keyword domain name.

    So last night i started going through my list of over 200 keywords that I have built up and reassed them with my keyword tool and if there was no domain available for exact phrase. I deleted it off of the list.

    It was a total mental switch.. You see I had gotten attached to these keywords because they were such good finds and I just knew I could make them work by adding something on the end. I told myself I will no longer become attached to the keyword itself but be more attached to the process of finding the keyword that not only meets all of the guidelines for competition, but also meets the guidelines for exact phrase domain names available.

    Im saying all of this for those here that continue to ask you if they can add something on the end. Ive tried to hold on to this belief and therefore I have cheated myself out of finding those keywords that are exact matches for domain names. Ive tried it and I’m here to tell you it does not work!!(without alot of promotion) Learn from my mistakes.

    I have a some sites that are exact domain names and let me tell you they are all at number 2 or 3 for that keyword. AND they had over 200K competition in quotes (i did not realize this before I brought the domain names, it was during a time when MNF had a hiccup) had i known it at the time I would not have bought that domain. But now Im glad I didnt know because those sites are consistent earners for me. AND I NEVER DID ANY BACK LINKS FOR THESE AS OF YET. But I plan to so that they want loose their position. However they have been holding their position for the last 4 or so months.

    Im not saying that you cant get on the front page for a domain name that is not an exact keywords. Certainly not! there are people that do it everyday, including myself and it was harder and some still have not cracked the front page. But keep in mind these are people that may be either building hugh authority sites, relying more on off-site optimization or paid methods.

    But for the purpose of what we are doing…. exact match domains are the rule and they rock! I found 4 exact matches last night. it took me 2 hours to find those 4. but it was time well spent. also when you find those exact matches be prepared to purchase right away. Dont just add them to your list, because it wont be there when you go back to buy it later. Why spend all that time looking for an exact match domain name only to let it sit on your list and have it taken by someone else.

    sorry mike for the long post…!!! I saw the light and just spreading the good news of exact keyword domain names! loL

    Hey I just wanted to let you know that BLS is back up and running again. Also I have a quick question do you do any backup of all your sites? I just use the WordPress backup plugin but not sure if that is sufficient?

    Mike

    Ok, I’ve bit the bullet and purchased the Xfactor course (hope the commission goes towards the condo-warming party!)..

    Hopefully this is the start of something good for me..

    Mike – Just wondering what anti-virus software you use, especially with scrapebox/BMD etc? I’m configuring mine, and it only allows one proxy at a time. Don’t want to take the risk…

    Or, do you even worry about configuring the anti-virus program to protect against your random proxy at the time?

    Hope I’m making sense.

    @ Dee – thanks for the tip. I’ve always stuck with exact domain, but thanks for the tip nonetheless. Me and my 3 sites, but 25+ domains…hm..

    @ Dee: just checked my domain names…Hm. One one, a very competitive niche, I’m on page two of Google, position #2 on Bing, page one on Yahoo, I think it was #4-5. Exact Google search with “” shows I’m up against 3,020,000 search results. That was my first site.

    On another site, I’m on page 1 of G, 1 of Y, not sure about Bing…up against 237k sites…

    On my third, page 3 of G (up from page 8)…

    But I rank for my other, inner pages as well fairly well (2-3 out of 5-8 pages will be hitting on page 1 of G searches).

    I’m not very sophisticated at what I do – I think I just used MNF. I hadn’t found this site yet…seems to be working, though.

    BTW, that was NOT to brag, I just got curious after your post. I’m sure it was LUCK, and I’m not trying to make any suggestions at all.

    @ Dee/all:

    Re-reading what I wrote, and I apologize if that sounded like I thought I was someone special. I don’t analyze as much as everyone else seems to, I try concentrate on content once I locate my keywords/main pages, etc.

    Anyhow, I wanted to say that I guess using exact kw phrase domains works, I prob should have left it at that. (I recognize I am a guppy, swimming with sharks – and I hate braggarts. Not trying to be one!)

    {saunters off}

    @dee

    Hey Dee, thanks for sharing your experiences..

    Ya…although you can get keywords ranking on page 1 when you add words before or after they target keyword, it will take longer and it will take more backlinking work. It’s SOOO much easier to just go for the exact match domains, it’s not even funny.

    It may be harder finding them at times…sometimes you may do keyword research for 4 hours and only wind up with 4 keywords, but then there are days where you find 10-20 keywords in 1 day if you happen across the right niche(s).

    @Susan

    Ya I’m going to have to do some queuing up soon..As far as backing up my sites, I have only been backing up my adsense sites as XSite Pro automatically asks you to do so every 2 weeks.

    I did setup some of my WordPress blogs to create backups and e-mail them to one of my gmail accounts, however I have not done this for all my WordPress sites.

    As far as what is sufficient, it was so long ago that I set that up that I can’t even remember all the necessary steps at this time :/

    @Doug

    Nice, thanks Doug :> (I haven’t seen the commission yet but I believe they are delayed) .. Once you’ve got all the tools, and you’ve got a system you’re following, it’s all about relentlessly putting in the work on a consistent/daily basis…as well as learning and adapting and refining based on what works and what doesn’t.

    @James the Just

    Hey James, I honestly haven’t been running as many virus scans as I should…not sure why you’re referencing BMD and Scrapebox in relation to virus protection though..

    And ya, regarding competition in quotes, you can still rank for keyword where the competition in quotes is high, the most important thing is to look at the page 1 competition (PR/Backlinks of competitors)..

    Unless I’ve got a good gut feeling or am feeling adventurous, I usually stick to under 100k…it’s best to play it safe/conservative.

    @ Mike:

    Oh, I totally agree with you, I honestly think I totally lucked out. It’s taken about 30-60 days for these sites to perform, I’ve been freelance writing mostly rather than building sites, that’s why you have me hooked.

    For the record, I didn’t think thru my comments very much, I was just pumped to find I was on page 1/2 on G searches (exact search and otherwise).

    Re: virus/BMD etc. – I was installing BMD finally and it’s on the first page, as a disclaimer I’m sure, to get some good anti-virus protection.

    Setting up my Vipre software, I found that the set up only allows for one proxy…I have 10…and it’s good to know that you don’t worry about it. I’m trying to replicate your success, so I’ll chill out.

    Thanks for the Keyword research tips, I have read your tip sheet and am not trying to argue my point – I really can’t figure out why some work better than others…the more I learn, the better I’ll get.

    There’s nothing better than making stable daily incomes πŸ˜‰ this is the beauty of adsense – it keeps coming every day, no exceptions.

    @James the Just

    Ya, nice going, and np..

    @Anton

    Ya, it’s great that Adsense stays in the same kinda range..although it’s not like that for everyone. Having gone after product sites which usually have a CPC of $1.30-$3.50 or so, that’s how it’s turned out for me.

  1. No trackbacks yet.
