I'd suggest picking better keywords :p

If it's giving you that much trouble, just forget about it and take it as a sign to pick out better keywords, that's what I do if my bookmarking/digg/rss/UAW run doesn't do it.

Just play the numbers game, you're going to have sites that don't rank anywhere, sites that rank on page 2-3 and stay stuck there and sites that rank on page 1...try and refine your kw researching to the point where at least 50% wind up ranking on page 1.

well heres the thing...MOST of my pages land on page 2 and no matter what I do...they wont move or budge. Some I built backlinks to get to move and nothing, some I made more posts to get to move and nothing. Some I update update update and more update and still nothing. Others I tried to Social bookmark and still nothing. How do you get these dang things to move up to first page? lol. I am now going on a month since starting sniping sites and the only sites that move are the ones that are further than page 2. Some start on page 3 or 4 then end up on page 2 but I cant seem to push page 2 sites to page 1. And also with this sandboxing issue on some of them is driving me nuts...any suggestions on pushing to page 1?

<a href="#comment-3473" rel="nofollow">@Kasey Langton</a>

Not sure why you'd think I'd disagree with that, of course you don't have to build backlinks to rank on the first page all the time.

But you can't bank on that every single time... and adding backlinks helps you rise up in the rankings on page 1 and also to sustain your rankings for the long term.

In the process of building backlinks your rankings will fluctuate, but that's part of the game..

Another thing about getting backlinks is it helps you rank for more long tail traffic.

Do what works for you though, what I'm doing brought me from $5 to $60/day in 3 months so I have no reason to change it..if what you're doing is working for you, keep doing it.

ok, well the reason i check my rankings is because I want to make sure my sites are getting indexed AND ranked, even if its on the 3rd or 4th page. because I have noticed a couple of my sites that are on the same IP address keep getting sandboxed i guess. They index fine but DO NOT rank at all. Nowhere to be found for any keyword but they are indexed. So thats why I check because I dont want to keep building sites on the same IP that keeps getting sandboxed.

Im still trying to figure all this out and I know that you do NOT have to be on the first page to get traffic because the long tails will kick in.

now this is interesting because I do NOT build backlinks at all and submit NO articles, NO linkwheels. NO angelas links because i dont think its necessary, I know you will disagree as with most IM'ers.

But by mistake i found out i didnt need to do this. One of my sites I launched...all i did was install wordpress and all in one seo pack and go0gle xml sitemaps and put the keyword ONLY in the title and description and NO CONTENT at all, just the default "hello world" post.

In 5 days it was on the position #1 on page 2 for a keyword with competition of over 100k in "quotes"

I have tried article submission and angela links (even had my own method to build them quickly) but after doing so, it just seems that it actually hurts my sites in the long run because eventually your links get removed by moderators and you will start slipping spots in the SERPS.

So i found its best to just not even build links. Keyword as the domain only and no other extra words in the domain. If its not available as the keyword then dont even try it. Some sites have landed on page 1 within in few days but Im mainly trying to figure out how to quit this sandbox crap.

Ill be ordering 5 more IPs that are fresh and see what happens because i currently have 5 IPs that I use but I started them ALL with the old sites I used to make before sniper sites and they were all full of .infos and spammed profile backlinks, which I know it suffered.

So im gonna start fresh with all new IPs and lanuch eash site with default worpress them with no content and keyword only in title, description and meta keywords, install those 2 plugins and let it index like that, cuz Its passing the sandbox that way and appearantly ranking high. (george talks about this when he does the video showing everyone about "vintage electric guitar" site) then after indexing ill add content to give it boost it needs.

Oh and ive tried social bookmarking too and noticed it doesnt really help. I dont even think content has alot to do either. And I think keyword density is a myth to some point.

Because launching a site with only WP installed and only have the keyword only in the meta tags would be considered 100% keyword density? considering there is no content.

Like I said im still running tests and trying to nail this perfectly so i dont end up with a billion sniper sites and make just a few bucks. anyways thats my 2 cents. take it with a grain of salt or use it if ya like.

<a href="#comment-3470" rel="nofollow">@Kasey Langton</a>

Well, I'll tell you that I don't wait around checking my watch to find out, that's the wrong mindset.

You shouldn't be concerned about when it appears on the first page on average because you should be too busy making new sites to even look back. The only time I bother to look at what's going on with a site is when I see it start making money via my adsense account.

If you've finished putting up a batch of sites and you're at a point where you need to do more keyword research so you can find keywords for new sites...only THEN would I go back and check on all my sites and see how my keyword selection and ranking worked out on the previous batch..then based on that, I'll incorporate that knowledge to improve my keyword selection for the next batch..

However, to answer your question anyway, at times it can appear on the first page the next day, other times within 2-3 days, other times within the week...then there are those that appear on page 3 or 2 and creep up to page 1 with backlinks.

It depends on the keyword and how good your keyword selection is.. but again, don't concern yourself with that stuff. It's not a metric I even bother with.

oh nice...and how long does it typically take to get on first page? I know it varies and a lot of factors but if you could put a time frame on it. How long on to first page on average?

<a href="#comment-3467" rel="nofollow">@Kasey Langton</a>

I have about 130 promoting CB products, however I don't count a bunch of those because there were a lot that were just duds, part of the learning process...

At this time when I make snipers, I'm able to get around 50% of them on the first page of Google for their keyword.
