yep was quite ridiculous! They even said if they were concerned or had any questions they\d email throughout but I didn't get a single email. Just articles completely different from what I asked for and no apologies.

I did get my money back and I deleted her articles...

<a href="#comment-3011" rel="nofollow">@Clefty</a>

Damn that's ridiculous..interesting how the writer has an excuse for their poor performance only after they've written it up. That's nonsense, if you asked for one thing in the requirements, if they can't deliver that they shouldn't take on the job...ya, I'm definitely going to be researching this option a bit more before I try it out..

I outsourced articles for 2 XF sites at $4 per article from an english speaker. I asked specifically for XF style and provided the details needed to write in that style (intro, some minor tips, then 200 words or so on product specs/benefits). I got back nothing like what I asked for and even was told that at $4 per article I "wasn't paying for researched content" and that if I wanted the details added about specific products I would have to add them myself since I was the expert on the niche :S

!!! So even at that price you have to watch out for what you get :(

<a href="#comment-3003" rel="nofollow">@Jeff</a>

Ya, the hardest part will be to find the people, but I know that people have found writers at that price and less by reading through various outsourcing threads on BHW.

I also know that if you have people working at $2/article and 10 articles a day, that's $600/month which in India, for example, is 27,000Rs. The avg monthly salary for educated professionals in India is 25,000 - 35,000Rs so $2 seems fair as long as they're getting continuous daily work which they will from me..

anyways, I might give it a shot..

I've been having trouble finding reliable writing for that price. It usually ends up being in broken English, and I end up spending more time fixing it than it'd take me to originally write it.

On top of that, I end up with a poorly structured article that I'm not happy with anyway since the ideas being written about weren't what I wanted.

Then, I don't know about my niche so it's harder for me to do article marketing.

The best reliable writing I've found is at $4.50/article but her time is limited anyway. I'm going to keep on looking, but I'm almost ready to accept the fact that good writing can't be bought for $2 or $3 per.

Wow, that would be a cheap rate indeed. I'm outsourcing at $5 for 500 words but happy with the quality. Another thing to watch out for when it's so cheap is duplicate content!
