Day 21 – I'm In Shock!

Today I had an issue with my hosting company in which they called me and told me that apparently one of my sites (Site #6) was using up 25% of the server’s CPU!  This is what they sent:

Total Requests:2
Unique Visitors:2
Total Processes:1
CPU Usage:27.8
Total Running MySQL Queries:1
Total Web Processes:1

This is a courtesy notice to inform you that the following script has been temporarily disabled due to excessive resource usage:

As you can see above and below, the script in question was using more than the 25% CPU usage allocated to your account as per our terms of service.Incoming Requests:

some IP listed here              mysite        /ar/”my main keyword” (has to do with the google translator plugin)
some IP listed here#2         mysite       /feed/rss

I had no idea what this was all about, but I disabled all my plugins, then re-enabled them all, with the exception of the translator plugin, and now they brought the site back online…Anyone had to deal with this kind of stuff before?

This whole problem though was something that took up some time out of my day to deal with, as well as some other hosting issues, so I only got around to completing 1 sniper site today.  I’m going to see if I can do 3 Sniper sites tomorrow to make up for it though.

But, all the above is not what I was shocked about…This is what shocked me:

I made $147.35 in Clickbank sales!

Wow, just wow…if all my days were like this I’d be set!

Remember how I mentioned that 1 of my sniper sites that disappeared from Google returned?  Well, that site got a sale.  Also, *3* of my sniper sites in my main sniper niche got a sale and I got 2 more sales from Site #1!

That’s 6 sales total, 4 of which were from sniper sites…

Furthermore, I got a whopping 386 hops! O_o:

I’m hoping this trend continues :>

Earnings For Today:

  • 6 sales for $147.35 – main sniper site niche sales = $27.12, $27.12, $26.33….Site #1 sales = $20.36, $26.38….Sniper site in niche 2 = $20.04
  • Adsense = $3.02
  • Total for today = $150.37
  • Hops = 386

Amazing day Mike! I was going to tell you that your site here was running very slow and at one point I got a server error but it looks like you resolved the issue. Keep up the great work.

WOW Thats great Mike. I’m sure you will be seeing those $100+ days more and more often and I don’t think it will be too long before you are seeing $100+ every day. I think that as you build more sites your conversion rates will improve too.

If you don’t mind me asking – how many hours a day are you putting into IM at the moment. The reason I ask, is that in theory I should be able to put in 8 – 10 hours per day, but with family commitments etc it’s just not happening. I am managing around 5 -6 hours per day 5 days per week.

I am currently making around $100 per month, but all that has come from my 1st authority site. I have 3 others but they are not getting much traffic yet (the good old google dance) but I think when they do start to get traffic they will do better than blog 1. Am hoping to get some sniper sites done this week, I feel confident I can write the kind of copy that should generate a good number of hops and hopefully sales too.

Anyway Mike thanks for the updates, yours is the first site I check in the morning (I’m in the UK and when I get up your probably going to bed), and congrats again on your sales.

Mike I have a feeling you are going to be reporting more days like this! Congrats man!

I’ve had a plugin on my main site take down ALL my sites before. Now I only run the plugins I really need.

Mike, that’s amazing! I’m so happy for you. Your site has become a great source of inspiration for me to keep plugging away every day. Here’s to always having $100+ days!

Thanks Pete…ya seems like that issue is still happening, I’ve got to speak with them again.

Thanks Rik..The conversion rate for the main sniper niche is doing a bit better than I thought it would, 10 sales in 12 days..even though the hop to sale ratio is 154:1(it was close to 200:1 before), I’ll take 10 sales in 12 days, no problem.

And ya, np, I don’t mind telling you how much I’m working. I don’t work like a maniac all throughout the day to get this work done, I have plenty of time to do other things in my life. But when it comes to the end of the day, I really buckle down and start working hard as if against a deadline.

When I actually seriously start working to create my 2 sites per day, if I’m familiar with the niche and what I’m going to be writing, best case scenario it will take me around 45 min to write the welcome post, tip post and review of the product page..

Then it will take me around 1 1/2 hours to setup the website(plugins, banners and misc setup stuff), post the welcome and tip post, bookmark the site, digg it, add it to Friend Feed and submit the RSS feed.

So that is 2h and 15 min for 1 site, about 4 1/2 hours for 2 sites.

Now that’s best case scenario. Sometimes if I’m new to the niche it may take me longer to do all that, so it can take between 4-6 hours.

In addition to that, I may spend an hour or two doing keyword research.

And at times I do other stuff that is not completely necessary like reading the Warrior forum :>

So I’d say it’s definitely possible for you to be doing the work I’m doing in 5-6 hours.

..and I’m sure people in North America are also waking up when I’m going to bed :>

Hah, thanks Deb, I try to stay consistent..

heheh Thanks for that Evita, yesterday when I woke up i had already had $100 in my account!

Thanks Shelly, ok, so I’m not the only one, that sucks that they took down everything… That translator plugin is trouble.

Glad my site is helping you out Jen and thanks!

Mike the plugin that took all my sites down was the “WassUp” plugin.
