<a href="#comment-2995" rel="nofollow">@Linda</a>

Well, for the sites that aren't using as much bandwidth, you can go back and limit bandwidth individually to save space...but if you have a reseller account, you're not going to have to worry about bandwidth until you have around 200 sites.

Thanks Mike. I have my packages set up for 1000MB bandwidth already. I was hoping I could have made them less than that after reading how much you use on yours with XSite pro. I guess I'll keep them at the 1000MB for now since I use wordpress and various plugins. Thanks for the explanation.

<a href="#comment-2963" rel="nofollow">@Linda</a>

no, it wouldn't...with Wordpress, it's going to depend on how many plugins you install... For me, my CB snipers take up 15-20mb of space so I allocate 30mb of space for each...as for bandwidth, that varies depending on which sites get a lot of traffic.

I have some sites that I've had to increase the bandwidth limit for, past 1000mb because they were getting a lot of visitors...

1000mb of bandwidth is my default allocated to each of my CB snipers that are put up via wordpress, but not all of them use that space...allocating that much per site hasn't been an issue until now that I've got 200+ sites and am at 223200 / 250000 of allocated bandwidth..

Thanks Mike. Would a package with 10MB of space and 200MB of bandwidth be enough if using wordpress for these sniper sites. Thanks

Hey Linda, I setup a package with 10mb of space and set the bandwidth to 200mb...this is because I'm using XSite Pro 2 and the sites take up only 1mb of space.

Hi Mike

when setting up your packages in hostgator reseller, how much Quota(MB) and Bandwidth(MB)do you allocate in a package for a small google sniper site?

Thanks

Always a good idea to have multiple hosting plans IMO - I've had several dedicated servers, and several reseller accounts over the past few years and on several separate occasions there's been a problem which has temporarily wiped out my hosting (oncee was a fire at a datacenter, the others were server issues). Almost every time it's been sorted out within 24 hours, but when you lose your entire portfolio of sites like that (and many of them were my client's sites) and you are at the mercy of your host to sort it out it's extremely stressful!

Now I use 2 different reseller accounts with 2 different hosting companies, and so I know that in a worse case scenario I would only have half of my sites go down!

<a href="#comment-2878" rel="nofollow">@jb</a>

Hmm, ya, you get "the coupon has expired" now..

As far as how many domains you have on 1 account it's a personal preference thing...I personally don't mind having 200-300 domains on 1 account, however I was nearing my bandwidth limits and would have had to upgrade to $35/month rather than $25/month, and considering I lucked in on this deal, I decided to get a new account.

When you have 200-300 domains you start getting a bit more hesitant about putting up sites, getting a new account takes that hesitancy away so that you can really start building a crazy big empire of niche sites.

With these 3 accounts I feel I can comfortably keep pumping out sites until I have 900 of them :> If each 100 sites gets me 1k(worst case scenario), which so far I've seen is easily achievable, I wouldn't mind paying 9k in domain registration fees each year for a 9k/month income..chances are I'll make more per 100 sites though and I'm not going to keep the non-performers.

I wish I knew Susan, I'm sure there will be other sales, although 75% was a really rare occurrence, most Host Gator coupons give you 20% off.

Well it seems as though I missed this special; I have 84 sites on one reseller account; so I still have some room for growth. Hopefully they will have another sale like this maybe for Christmas or New Years?
