Day 207 – Adsense Sniper #75 & 76 + HostGator 75% Off

November 28th, 2009

Today I got another 2 sniper sites done….also, seeing as how it was Black Friday apparently Hostgator had a sale going on for 75% off their hosting plans…the coupon for it was “75off” but I don’t think it will still work by the time you read this..but you can give it a shot..

SO..

I decided to take FULL advantage of that…basically, I was able to cut down a $300/year reseller fee down to $78/year!Β  I decided that since my main reseller account has a bit over 200 accounts this would be a good time to get an additional hosting account.

I actually canceled my other shared hosting account I had registered with Just Host for WPMage, I had heard bad things about them suspending you for going over 10% CPU usage(something that happens when you’re posting 1000’s of posts in a day with WPMage…so what I’ve done now is I’ve registered an additional *2* reseller hosting accounts for 1 year..total : $156, a fraction of the $300 for 1 account at 1 year!

I’m going to use my 2nd reseller to continue to develop my adsense snipers on and use the 3rd reseller to develop my WPMage sites on…

I feel I got lucky here getting these accounts so cheap…It was quite a mental barrier to go and do this…but after I went and registered a new account I realized that I was kind of at a barrier, I felt like I didn’t want to develop too many domains on 1 hosting account, but now that I’ve got 2 completely new and separate ones, I feel a lot FREER about going and filling them up with more domains.

I fully intend to fill up this 2nd Reseller account with adsense snipers…definitely 100 sites..I find building sites is just the easiest way to boost income fast, it’s the only thing you can be 100% sure of yielding results….With backlinking you have to just plug away and hope that Google rewards you for it instead of penalizing you or doing nothing..with building additional SEO targeted sites though, it’s much more of an exact science (provided you’ve got the keyword research aspect down, which isn’t a big deal, comes with practice)..

I’ve got to go over all my domains now and change the nameservers..

But having these 2 accounts definitely is good, it’s given me the task to fill them up by the end of next year with a ton of domains so that when it comes time to pay $24×3/month 1 year from now, I’ll be making more than enough to pay for that.

Earnings For Today:

  • CB = $19.69
  • Hops = 201
  • Adsense = $45.34

    Hey Mike,

    Aww, I missed the hostgator special. I too have over 200 domains…and counting…in 1 reseller account. Is it really that risky, you think?

    Well it seems as though I missed this special; I have 84 sites on one reseller account; so I still have some room for growth. Hopefully they will have another sale like this maybe for Christmas or New Years?

    Hmm, ya, you get “the coupon has expired” now..

    As far as how many domains you have on 1 account it’s a personal preference thing…I personally don’t mind having 200-300 domains on 1 account, however I was nearing my bandwidth limits and would have had to upgrade to $35/month rather than $25/month, and considering I lucked in on this deal, I decided to get a new account.

    When you have 200-300 domains you start getting a bit more hesitant about putting up sites, getting a new account takes that hesitancy away so that you can really start building a crazy big empire of niche sites.

    With these 3 accounts I feel I can comfortably keep pumping out sites until I have 900 of them :> If each 100 sites gets me 1k(worst case scenario), which so far I’ve seen is easily achievable, I wouldn’t mind paying 9k in domain registration fees each year for a 9k/month income..chances are I’ll make more per 100 sites though and I’m not going to keep the non-performers.

    @susan

    I wish I knew Susan, I’m sure there will be other sales, although 75% was a really rare occurrence, most Host Gator coupons give you 20% off.

    Always a good idea to have multiple hosting plans IMO – I’ve had several dedicated servers, and several reseller accounts over the past few years and on several separate occasions there’s been a problem which has temporarily wiped out my hosting (oncee was a fire at a datacenter, the others were server issues). Almost every time it’s been sorted out within 24 hours, but when you lose your entire portfolio of sites like that (and many of them were my client’s sites) and you are at the mercy of your host to sort it out it’s extremely stressful!

    Now I use 2 different reseller accounts with 2 different hosting companies, and so I know that in a worse case scenario I would only have half of my sites go down!

    @Billy

    Hmm, that sucks that that happened, diversification is good…The most downtime I’ve experienced has been about an hour or so…Hostgators been pretty reliable for me.

    Hi Mike

    when setting up your packages in hostgator reseller, how much Quota(MB) and Bandwidth(MB)do you allocate in a package for a small google sniper site?

    Thanks

    @Linda

    Hey Linda, I setup a package with 10mb of space and set the bandwidth to 200mb…this is because I’m using XSite Pro 2 and the sites take up only 1mb of space.

    Thanks Mike. Would a package with 10MB of space and 200MB of bandwidth be enough if using wordpress for these sniper sites. Thanks

    @Linda

    no, it wouldn’t…with WordPress, it’s going to depend on how many plugins you install… For me, my CB snipers take up 15-20mb of space so I allocate 30mb of space for each…as for bandwidth, that varies depending on which sites get a lot of traffic.

    I have some sites that I’ve had to increase the bandwidth limit for, past 1000mb because they were getting a lot of visitors…

    1000mb of bandwidth is my default allocated to each of my CB snipers that are put up via wordpress, but not all of them use that space…allocating that much per site hasn’t been an issue until now that I’ve got 200+ sites and am at 223200 / 250000 of allocated bandwidth..

    Thanks Mike. I have my packages set up for 1000MB bandwidth already. I was hoping I could have made them less than that after reading how much you use on yours with XSite pro. I guess I’ll keep them at the 1000MB for now since I use wordpress and various plugins. Thanks for the explanation.

    @Linda

    Well, for the sites that aren’t using as much bandwidth, you can go back and limit bandwidth individually to save space…but if you have a reseller account, you’re not going to have to worry about bandwidth until you have around 200 sites.
