Day 190 – Adsense Sniper #61 + WP Mage

November 11th, 2009

Today I didn’t get as much as I wanted done, I got an adsense sniper done and did a little research into WordPress Mage.  Right now with WP Mage, I’m still figuring everything out, they had some videos there, I just spent some time going over about 1/2 of those and also browsing around the forum…At the moment I’m going to keep this as a side project, I still want to get my 2 adsense snipers out a day.

I can’t really report on WordPress Mage at this point as I’m still new to the program, but things look good so far…I’ll be able to give a much better, more educated assessment probably a month from now after implementing it on a good # of sites…

Today I checked the rankings of some of my sites, my top earners, and I noticed that they had gone up, quite a bit!  1 of my sites for a 1.6k exact match kw with $17 CPC is ranked #1 now and has become a consistent earner for me on par with sites that get 3k+ exact searches (this is the ONLY time I’ve gone this low…I prefer 2.9k+ and only recently with my mass site creation spree have tried dipping down to 2.4k exact searches.

Also, 2 of my top earners have gone up in rankings as well, one site has gone from around position #5-6 to Position #2 on page 1, and the other went from position #5-6 to position #1! (BTW, today I earned $48.14 in Adsense).. I think this new placement I’ve noticed MIGHT have had something to do with it, however time will tell.

To give you an idea of how my properties perform without breaking TOS, here’s an example earning scenario of what I might see on a day where I earn around $50:

1. $16
2. $7
3. $4
4. $3.50
5. $3
6. $2
7. $2
8. $1.50
9. $1.50
10. $1.50
11. $1.50
12. $1
13. $1
14. $1
15. <$1
16. <$1
17. <$1
18. <$1
19. <$1

Now the sites in the $1-2 range are sometimes sites that are top earners as well, but may have been having a bad day…They are more often than not though sites that are not consistent earners(ie: sites that make money every other day).  I usually only have about 7 consistent daily earners that I can rely on though out of all of this…the rest of the sites I have no idea when they will pull in some income.

Earnings For Today:

  • CB = $0
  • Hops = 129(new) / 323(old analytics)
  • Adsense = $48.14

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for the adsense breakdown! I have about 40 sites, but only 6 of them are consistently earning daily. arggh! Do you think it makes a big difference if I update the site with new content after it has been indexed? I have just been building the site in one day and then adding links.

By the way, ebay is getting more strict with black hat sites, so I wouldn’t risk my ebay account for a short term gain using wp mage. Translations back to English are going to sound like garbage. I hear it’s a pain getting a new account setup with them nowadays.

    Sure, np Ron :>

What I do is I post the first 3 posts right away and ping them, then I post the 4th page up the following day and then the day after that the 5th post…it’s been working well for me.

About EBay, the thing EBay is looking out for is bot clicks(search engine bots with bad manners that click every link on your site, including your ebay auction links…or, just evil ppl up to no good), they are suspending accounts that have suspicious clicks that look like you’ve been clicking things yourself to inflate your income(just like adsense).

The good thing about this system is there is a forum with a community, they talk there about how to mitigate account suspension issues by taking server logs on your site on a daily basis through CPanel…

When you start getting a lot of traffic and making a lot of money in these programs you’re automatically at an increased risk of stuff like this anyways…

But I’ve also just noticed Ebay has posted the following so it looks like they’re looking into fixing this on their end:

    “Click Filtering (on-going enhancements)

We have had a few reports that some of our affiliates have been experiencing issues with bots inflating their click numbers. We have been working on a few additional click filtering rules to continue to improve our capabilities in this area and ensure click counts in ePN are an accurate representation of valid clicks. We will continue to roll these out in the coming weeks.”

EPN will cancel your account for any reason, made up or real. My EPN account was expired because their computers determined one of my sites was “stuffing cookies” which I don’t do and don’t know how to do. Ebay won’t return any of my emails asking for a manual review. I’m not the only one this has happened too, if you look around online lots of people are getting their accounts expired for no reason.

    I’d be careful.

Ya Shelly, I remember you mentioning you lost it before…that sucks.

This is documented quite a bit on that forum..If your income suddenly spikes, apparently you’re on the map for their automated bot which randomly selects from that pool of people around the 20th of the month.

From there on, they send you a series of emails(one member has shown the whole back and forth he had to deal with there)..

They ask for a variety of things to be sent to them within 72 hours otherwise face “termination”…So you give them your server logs and be as honest as possible about how you get your traffic..

They’ll be rough on you but you just keep acting professional and being persistent and apparently they will eventually re-instate your account, but usually after 3 weeks of back and forth which is a lot of lost income.

there are also several cases(not from using this program, just in general) where ppl have been reinstated only to lose it again next month around the 20th when the bot flags them again(this bot is apparently stupid)…you then have to go through the same process and get re-approved again.

Now this method of making money with Ebay doesn’t violate any of their TOS…but even if you were not to do this, if you increased your income by a lot you’d be in danger.

It’s stupid… making money with EBay with or without this is a risk, just like Adsense has risks…you gotta deal with it or just go to another merchant like Amazon or something.
